Response to COVID-19
SAFEGUARDING OUR COMMUNITY AGAINST COVID-19
The Covid-19 pandemic has impacted our daily lives and altered the ways in which we live, work and play. During this period of uncertainty, Sengkang Town Council remains committed in our fight against the evolving pandemic through our continued efforts to ensure the health and safety of all in our community.
DISINFECTING OUR COMMON AREAS
As a means of combating the risks brought about by COVID-19, our conservancy cleaners make it a point to conduct sanitising at high-contact touchpoints on a daily basis in efforts to reduce the potential spread of the virus.
Sanitisation is carried out with the use of antimicrobial disinfectant that is coated onto multiple surfaces including our lift button panels, railings and letterboxes. As an added measure to evaluate the effectiveness of the disinfectant, our conservancy workers also conduct adenosine triphosphate (ATP) testing to study the degree of biological contamination at a particular site.
LIMITING THE USE OF SHARED SPACES
In line with the latest measures implemented by the Ministry of Health (MOH) and Ministry of National Development (MND) on limiting the sizes of group gatherings at common areas, the Town Council has taken steps to blockade the shared facilities in our town such as the barbeque areas.
Due to reports of routine violations of safe-distancing measures, and to ensure the well-being of all residents, the Town Council has also temporarily closed our sporting facilities such as the basketball and street soccer courts.
ADVOCATING SAFE DISTANCING
As part of keeping the spread of the virus at bay, the Town Council has also enforced safe distancing across Sengkang Town by demarcating seats at common areas where large group sizes would otherwise gather.
